Parsons Green Urban Garden
This garden in Parsons Green SW6
was given a modern and warm feel by
incorporating rendered retaining walls, capped with reclaimed London stock bricks to match the house.
To create a contrast to the large format porcelain tiles, decorative pebbles were used underneath the impressive cedar floating bench.
The up-lighters highlight the warm tones of the cedar bench above. Lighting has also been installed at varyings heights throughout the raised beds, creating the possibility
of entertaining late on a Summer's evening.
The installation of a decorative cedar trellis along the garden boundaries, gives an additional degree of privacy.
Plants for the garden were chosen to provide all year colour as well as structure and the selection incorporates plants that grow to varying heights and shapes, with taller plants being positioned at the rear and lower mound forming specimens, such as Hebe, placed to overhang the brick capping.
Perennial flowers such as Salvia nemerosa and Dianthus (carnations) are dotted in between and offer a splash of colour in amongst the green.
