Totteridge Large Family Garden
The garden at the rear of this impressively refurbished house in Totteridge N20 needed extensive landscaping works to convert it into this beautiful and useable family garden.
Extensive areas of Italian porcelain on the upper and lower terraces are connected by impressive stairs.
Large 600mm x 600mm porcelain tiles were used to create the patios
and main walkways through the garden. These tiles were chosen to match the interior tiles, providing a seamless feel to the space when the expansive sliding doors are open.
An outdoor kitchen was created to provide alfresco dining in the Summer months.
Generous planting beds border the upper patio and lawn and are edged with corten steel.
The planting consists of low grasses (Luzula Nivea), a mix of perennials and
shrubs that give all year interest e.g. Hydrangea Annabelle, Astrantia major 'Roma' (Masterwort), Salvia caradonna (Balkan clary) and Hemerocallis (Daylily).
An overgrown woodland in the lower section of the garden was reclaimed by thinning out and removing scrubland, creating a clearing in the centre where a wildflower meadow was planted.
Gravel paths, wind there way from the lower lawn through the woodland and back again to give all weather access to all parts of the garden.
